“Racing is Life… anything else before or after is just waiting.” It certainly was for Beryl Burton, the seven times World Champion and time trialling legend, as she never had a television or a telephone in her house. A part-timer worker on the local rhubarb and fruit farms, she remained an amateur cyclist all her life, a down to earth, ordinary Yorkshire lass, who never forget her roots and for this she was adored.
Narrated by Phil Liggett and with an original musical score, this new DVD features interviews with Beryl and those who knew her, together with very rare archive footage. In an intimate and moving film, the story of one of cycling’s champion of champions is told. Contains over 40 mins of special bonus features!
The Road Uphill is a new film on the Schleck brothers and their 2011 season. Andy Schleck’s ride up the Galibier that gave him the maillot jaune for 24 hours is just one special moment in a film that captures all the emotion.
Mark Cavendish, Born to Race is a new DVD offering a unique insight into the 2011 World Road Champion and Tour de France Green Jersey winner. We know Beryl Burton was special, but what about Bradley Wiggins? He had a year like no other and so please see the website for the new 2012 Tour DVD and the many new books on him now out.
Amongst all the other new books released this year, Born to Ride, the first ever-full autobiography of the Irish cycling legend Stephen Roche, reveals the many ups and downs of his career; the victories, defeats, rivals, injury and serious family issues.
As well as these great new DVDs and book, please check the website to see our large range of posters, retro jerseys and limited edition T-shirts, of which the Paris-Roubaix Alcyon Cycles is rather good.
Enjoy.
